RiflE Team  Saskatchewan at the Grand Prix, 4 Saskatchewan Men compete in Grand Prix men's finals, 5 of the 8 Saskatchewan team shooters compete in the final's with other team members just single digit numbers from making it into the finals. Canada Winter Games

Matthew McDermott, Justin Nenson, Gold and Silver Complete Results

Matthew McDermott won the Gold medal in individual Air rifle competition. In the process set a new games record for the preliminary event of 575 and new event finals record of 672.5. In the same event Justin Nenson was the Silver medalist. As can be seen from the following article the Saskatchewan rifle shooters did exceedingly well at the games.

Day 7 turned out to be a lucky and good for Team Saskatchewan at the Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse on Wednesday as local athletes won six medals, doubling the medal count to 12.

Shooting Saskatoon's Nikki Bergeron and Naicam's Cassandra Wilson-Anderson were on the mark in the air rifle team event.

The duo finished with 752 points for the gold.

Bergeron also won gold at the 2003 Winter Games.

The marksmanship continued for Saskatchewan as Saskatoon's Matthew McDermott and Regina's Justin Nenson picked up a silver medal in the men's team air rifle. Finishing only four points behind the gold-medal winners from B.C., Nenson and McDermott have a combined nine years of shooting experience.
